What is resilience coaching?
Resilience coaching is a strand of life coaching which generally deals with two key themes. The first theme is the “bouncing back”; this is the restorative element of the coaching. This aims to readdresses balance, rebuild wellness, and reconnect to a sense of self. The second theme is the “planning forward”; this highlights individual strengths, coping mechanisms, motivators, and goals. Therefore, it aims to help create a future to be excited about.
What do we mean by resilience?
According to Mind.org.uk, “Resilience isn’t a personality trait – it’s something that we can all take steps to achieve.” Therefore we have the power to improve our own resilience. But getting support through a coach is ideal. This is because your coach be able to explore things with you. They can help you look at your areas of development as well as providing you with the accountability to achieve.
What is covered by resilience coaching?
Resilience is about coming back from difficulty. But difficulty means different things to each individual. Therefore, at GLC we specialise in forms of trauma. This can mean anything from critical illness to addiction, and a full list can be found here.
Please bear in mind that this is not a counselling service. We work closely with counsellors and psychotherapists to ensure a healthy boundary. We therefore ask that coachees who have had distressing experiences in the past, have had sufficient therapy first.
